NetChecks operates this site to provide free network and IP utility tools. The site is delivered as a static export — we do not run an application server, and we do not write request logs, IP addresses, or tool inputs to any database we control. Standard web-hosting access logs may exist at our hosting/CDN layer (typically including IP, user agent, timestamp, and visited URL) and are retained per the hosting provider’s default retention policy.
What our IP and network tools reveal to you
Several tools on this site display network information to you in your own browser. We want to be explicit about what is being shown and where it comes from:
- What Is My IP shows your own public IPv4 and IPv6 address along with your browser’s user-agent and platform string. Your IP is fetched directly from your browser to a third-party echo service (api.ipify.org / api64.ipify.org). This site does not receive, store, or transmit your IP to our servers as part of using the tool.
- IP Geolocation sends an IP address you enter (defaulting to a public example IP, not yours) directly from your browser to a third-party geolocation API (ipapi.co) to look up city, region, country, ASN, and approximate coordinates. Geolocation from an IP is approximate and provided by the upstream API.
- Ping Test performs HTTPS round-trip measurements from your browser to a target host you choose. We do not proxy or record these probes; timing is measured client-side only.
- Port Checker attempts a no-cors HTTPS/HTTP fetch to a host and port you enter and reports whether your browser received any response. It is a browser-reachability indicator, not a true port scan, and runs entirely from your browser to the target.
- DNS Lookup, WHOIS / RDAP, SSL Certificate Checker send the domain you enter directly from your browser to public third-party APIs (cloudflare-dns.com, rdap.org, api.certspotter.com) and display the response.
- MAC Address Lookup performs the OUI-to-vendor match locally using a public vendor list fetched from a public GitHub-hosted source. The MAC address you enter is not transmitted anywhere by us.
- Subnet Calculator runs entirely in your browser. Inputs are not sent anywhere.
When tool inputs are sent to a third-party API as described above, that third party receives your IP address (as the requesting client) and the input you provided, and may process it under its own privacy policy. We do not control or log those requests.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregated usage and Google AdSense to serve ads. Both may set cookies and may receive your IP address and user-agent string as part of ordinary web requests. Google may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Analytics and advertising are gated by a consent banner where required.
You can control cookies through your browser settings or by using the consent controls presented on the site.
Third-party services we call from your browser
The following third parties may receive requests originating from your browser when you load pages on this site or use specific tools: Google Analytics, Google AdSense, ipify, ipapi.co, Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS, rdap.org, api.certspotter.com, and the public MAC vendor list source. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Server-side logging
This site is a static export. We do not operate an application server that stores tool inputs (IP addresses, domains, MAC addresses, ports, CIDR blocks) in any database we control. Hosting/CDN access logs may include your IP address, user-agent, timestamp, and requested URL for routine operational purposes.
Your rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have rights to access, update, delete, port, or object to processing of personal information. Because we do not operate our own database of user inputs, most such requests would need to be directed to the third-party services listed above.
